Membership Types and Fees

Regular- Active coaches, sanctioned conference/tournament officers, past presidents. Right of speech and vote at all meetings. $45.00

Affiliate-Any person demonstrating viable interest in high school bowling.No right to vote or hold office

Important Deadlines and Late Fees
The fee structure includes a grace period and late fee for renewals.

Membership Expiration: October 31st (annually).

New Member Fee ($45.00) Due: January 15, 2026

Standard Renewal Due/Grace Period End: December 15, 2025

Fee is $45.00.

Late Renewal Grace Period End: January 15th
-
Late fee is $55.00.
-
Crucial Note: The late fee of $55.00 will not include the MHSCA Coaches Liability Insurance.

Post-Deadline Rule:

Memberships postmarked January 16th or later will be applied to the following calendar season. Renewing members in this scenario will be refunded $10.00.
Special Multiple Coach Option
A discount is offered for programs that pay on time:

This option applies only to programs that pay their membership by December 15th.
-
The first boy coach and first girl coach are charged the regular $45.00 each.
-
Any other coach from that same program pays a discounted fee of $25.00 each.
Submission Instructions

Payment: Make checks payable to: Michigan High School Interscholastic Bowling Coaches Association or MHSIBCA.

Submission: Send the check and the entire form (one per coach) to:

Note: Only your name and school will be posted on the MHSIBCA website (www.mhsibca.com).

Copies: Applicants should make copies of the form as needed for additional coaches.

Michigan High School Interscholastic Coaches Association MEMBER BENEFITS
The Michigan High School Interscholastic Bowling Coaches Association (MHSIBCA) is an
organization that represents and supports Michigan High School Bowling Coaches.
If a coach is a member of the MHSIBCA his/her athletes are eligible for consideration for the
following:
For member athletes:
MHSIBCA Dream Team (senior only award) both boys and girls
MHSIBCA MR and MISS Bowler (senior only award) both boys and girls
MHSIBCA All State recognition (all divisions) 1 st and 2 nd teams
MHSIBCA both boys and girls scholarships (all divisions) seniors only
MHSIBCA Game and series recognition pins.
For member coaches:
MHSIBCA MHSCA Coaches liability insurance if joining before December 16 th
MHSIBCA Dream Team Coach of the year both boys and Girls
MHSIBCA Coach of the year (if submitted) the coaches both boys and girls all divisions
MHSCA Coach of the year a boy and girl coach
Annual AGM that provides elections, clinics and an in person rules meeting.

CODE OF ETHICS

THIS CODE OF ETHICS IS A GUIDE TO PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT FOR
MEMBERS OF THE MICHIGAN HIGH SCHOOL COACHES ASSOCIATION.
THE PRIME OBJECTIVES OF MICHIGAN COACHES ARE TO PROVIDE A
POSITIVE AND NURTURING ENVIRONMENT WHICH ALLOWS FOR THE
EDUCATION OF OUR STUDENT ATHLETES AND TO PROMOTE HEALTHY
SPORTS PARTICIPATION
A COACH SHOULD:

Be loyal and supportive of their school and administrators.

Have strong morals and firm principles of right and truth.

Engage in continuing education in all areas.

Be a goodwill ambassador between their school and the community.
-
Teach and practice true sportsmanship.
-
Be humble in victory and courageous in defeat.

Neither knowingly nor unethically attempt to take another coach’s position.

Employ only officials of high integrity or honesty.

Respect and support officials always.
-
Never publicly criticize other coaches or officials.
-
Always offer congratulations in public- win or lose.

Abide by proper scouting rules.
-
Always maintain proper sportsmanship as it applies to scoring. Never, run up the score.

Always act with dignity.
-
Always represent yourself in a positive way. Dress appropriately and professionally. Show school pride.

Conduct yourself in a way which earns respect and confidence from others.

Never engage in conduct detrimental to players, officials, or spectators.
-
Represent the coaching profession in a way which values you.
-
Be loyal and supportive of your coach’s association.
-
Strive to grow their sport and be inclusive of all.
-
Be committed to education and awareness of mental health.
-
Use sports to teach life lessons to our student athletes.
-
Promote and encourage multi-sport participation.
-
